For a ten year period, starting around 1974 my big passion was Spedeworth Stock Car Racing, and in particular Hot Rod racing, later known as National Hot Rods.
My local track was Wimbledon, with racing most Saturday nights. When I finally got my own transport, I traveled to watch Hot Rod racing at many tracks including Aldershot (Thursday nights), Arlington, Ipswich, Northampton, Arena Essex, Ringwood and Brands Hatch.
My hero was Barry Lee. The driver I loved to hate was, of course, George Polley. Second favorite was Duffy Collard.
I hope to grow this site over time to include many of my memories of those days. Initially, here are some of my pictures and souvenirs of Barry Lee. Click on the picture below....enjoy
New - Some memories of Davy Evans..
New - Pictures from the 1993 Hot Rod Championship of the World
I have been real busy these last few years. Look for major updates to this site sometime in 2000!
